Kosovo Assembly elected Atifete Jahjaga as its first female president in the Kosovo’s new history. Madam President comes from the Kosovo Police Service. She was the deputy commissioner. Madam President of Kosovo is the first female president in the Balkan’s and the only women with the highest ranking position in the Police Service – General-Major.
Kosovo as the new Balkan nation – demonstrated the highest point of democracy in the heart of Balkans. “We have a shared past and we are forced to share the future in the democratic world,” she said. She expects Kosovo to be successful and prosperous.
“Madam President Jahjaga stated that “Kosovo and Serbia will have an open path towards the EU and the citizens of the two countries will return to a normal life.”
Parliament today voted 80-10 to appoint Jahjaga who is only 35 years old wife. Her husband is a doctor-dentist working in the National Health Center in Prishtina – Kosovo. She will serve a one-year term, after which the country’s 2 million citizens will elect a new president in a popular vote.

ReplyDeleteI say she is wrong for Kosovo. It sends a message that Kosovo is young and unexperienced. Which is of course not true. But just look at her...does she even look presidential?
Well..I guess it's better than having Pacollli who seemed a bit lost as president.
