Vatican recognizes "de facto" the indipendence of Kosovo

The Vatican already has recognized "de facto" the independence of Kosovo. So has convinced the American representative at the Vatican Embassy in April 2008, just two weeks after the declaration of independence of Kosovo, Monsignior Miguel Maury, the contact person of the Holy See for the Balkans. 

In the cablegram published by Wikileaks, U.S. official says that the representative of the Vatican has expressed "disappointment for the specific language in the Constitution, which he sees as opening the possibility the same sex marriages and the attempt to allow abortion. This language, according to the Vatican, "was imposed by international consultants, irrespective of the different attitudes of the Kosovo people themselves."
